Dear Dairymen:We would like to take this
opportunity to again remind you of what Kern County has to offer Dairymen and their
families who are contemplating a move in the near or not-too-distant future.
Being former Dairy people and even now being involved in the dairy business, we feel we
are in an excellent position to understand the needs and wishes of the dairymen. If you
want to move in to an existing facility or construct a new facility, we can help make that
transaction much easier for you.
We feel that Kern County is the ideal location for dairies. We have ample water. This
year in the midst of the turmoil of El Nino, we have had a little over 14 inches or rain,
but our average rainfall is usually around 5.5 inches.
Feed is abundant and the overall climate is sunny, dry and warm, with the winds
generally light.
Eight California Counties produced agricultural value in excess of one billion dollars
in 1991. Kern County is ranked third among these counties, with $1.5 billion total of all
agricultural commodities. Kern County is the third largest agricultural county in the
United States. Dairy operators are a growing part of that agribusiness sector.
The population of Kern County is at 567,200 with the city of Bakersfield at 188,300 and
the metropolitan area is at 347,000. With it's big city convenieces and advantages,
Bakersfield still maintains an atmosphere of small town hospitality and friendship. The
rapid growth that Bakersfield is experiencing requires new schools throughout the county.
Several new schools at all levels are now under construction throughout Bakersfield and
the surrounding areas. We offer public, private and Christian schools at all levels and
special services for mentally and physically handicapped children, which includes a
special education transportation system.
Bakersfield College, California State University at Bakersfield, Weill Institute -
Small Business Center and California Pacific School of Law are some of the specialty
schools located in Bakersfield.
Kern County also offers year round recreation, including aquatic and vehicular
recreation areas, public and private golf courses, fine lodging and dining, close
proximity to mountains, desert and the beautiful Central Cost.
There are two major shopping malls and many community neighborhood shopping centers.
Along with several medical services, Bakersfield has seven hospitals. Cultural activities
are thriving, museums abound, and Kern County's library system is state of the art.
We are proud of Bakersfield and it's surrounding areas. The cities of Shafter and Wasco
are also fast growing communities close to Bakersfield and Tulare County. Wasco is known
for it's superb farm ground and good water conditions which makes the area ideal for
dairies. Kern's dairy services industry is very supportive and serves the industry with
dedication and reliability. We would be happy to give you information on what services are
available.
We would like to let you know that we stand ready to assist you with all aspects of
relocating your dairy.
Kern County has ideal dairy sites, to suit the very large or the small dairyman. Our

construction consulting and farm management.
Let us work for you - come to Kern County and allow us to show you what we have to
